Health is an essential aspect of our lives. In India, a majority of people lack these basic needs due to various reasons such as lack of money, lack of knowledge, and poverty. Today, we will take a closer look at India’s current state in the health sector and discuss what we, as the Health Organization, are doing to make it better.
AGWO health organization is powering up individuals.
As a Health Organization, our goal is to create a world where healthcare services are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial status. AGWO plays a crucial role in achieving this objective. We are committed to providing fundamental healthcare services to those who are living below the poverty line, ensuring that no one suffers from illness due to a lack of financial resources or any other factor.
Why is health important, especially for underprivileged people?
Health is extremely important for everyone, but it becomes even more crucial for underprivileged individuals due to various factors. Firstly, they often lack access to proper healthcare, nutrition, and sanitation, making them more susceptible to illness and disease.
Secondly, poor health can further exacerbate existing socio-economic challenges such as unemployment and poverty, creating a vicious cycle that is difficult to break. Ensuring the health and well-being of underprivileged people is essential for their overall development as well as for the betterment of society as a whole.
India’s stats in the health sector
- India’s healthcare industry has been experiencing a remarkable growth rate of approximately 22% since 2016. If the industry continues to grow at this pace, it is estimated to reach USD 372 billion by 2022. The healthcare sector has become one of the biggest contributors to the Indian economy, generating significant revenue and employment opportunities.
- Initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, CoWin App, Aarogya Setu, e-Sanjeevani, and e-Hospital have played a significant role in improving healthcare services across India. These initiatives have helped bridge the gap between different stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem by providing access to digital highways.
- India’s healthcare infrastructure comprises around 69,000 public and private hospitals, with the private sector contributing approximately 62%. The total includes 43,486 private hospitals, 1.18 million beds, 59,264 intensive care units, and 29,631 ventilators.
- According to a report by ICRA, India’s private sector currently has an overall bed capacity of 11–11.5 lakh, which is expected to increase to 11.3–11.8 lakh by 2028, with an annual growth rate of 2.7%. The report suggests that the companies surveyed
by ICRA are expected to add over 1,500 beds and 3,400 beds in FY24 and FY25, respectively.
The AGWO Health Organization targets all the issues regarding health.
The AGWO Health Organization is responsible for providing basic healthcare facilities and conducting health awareness camps for people who lack access to knowledge and infrastructure. We believe that a healthy community can contribute to a better future for the country.
Low-income families are the ones who are most affected by the lack of healthcare facilities, which is why we strive to make a change by offering healthcare services and facilities to empower them.
Healthcare facilities by AGWO
As a Health Organization, we run various programs to address common social issues related to health. Our programs cover topics such as environmental health, communicable disease prevention, population control, and more. We have achieved success in these areas over time.
HIV/AIDS awareness camp
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has no cure. The least we can do to prevent it is to spread awareness about this disease and educate people about its causes and prevention. This can save lives.
The most terrifying thing about this disease is that it weakens the immune system of the body. Once you have it, that will only mean you are past the deadline because it’s incurable. We run awareness camps in slums to tackle this issue.
Blood donation camps
Blood donors are true heroes, as they save the lives of many people. The AGWO Health Organization conducts blood donation campaigns periodically. We have already organized several blood donation campaigns in the Delhi/NCR region and have been working with thalassemia patients. Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about blood donation that prevent our youth from actively participating in such noble causes.
Campaigns for disability check-ups
As we all know, disabilities can be very challenging for those who have them, regardless of whether they are mental or physical. Disabilities can limit an individual’s progress toward a bright future. As a health organization, we provide mental and physical support to those who are physically challenged. We take good care of them by providing medical facilities, free medicines, and healthy meals to make sure that every individual is strong and healthy.
Conclusion
The AGWO organization aims to provide essential health facilities and free medicine to underprivileged individuals while also addressing social health issues such as AIDS and disabilities. Our goal as an NGO is to create a safe world where everyone has access to healthcare and hope in their lives.
